JOB SUMMARY
The Energy Educator will engage in discussions with the customer about their energy use and provide tips for reducing energy consumption. This includes travel to the homes, meeting with the customer, completing paperwork, and using a handheld tablet to input energy saving measures accurately, recommendations and interface with multiple databases and outlook interfaces.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Energy Educator will do a visual inspection of a customers' home and install energy savings products such as programmable thermostats, LED Light bulbs, power strips, water heater pipe insulation, water saving products etc. based on customer needs.
- The assessment and direct installation of products will be conducted with the goal of increasing customer satisfaction with the utility client.
- Be able to recommend other utility programs for the customer to participate in.
- Performs related work as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to travel within NJ in company vehicles
- Related training and/or experience in maintenance, weatherization and/or energy efficiency principals and techniques preferred.
- Customer service experience desired
- 6 months – 1 year of utilities, HVAC, residential construction, energy knowledge or relevant experience.
- Building Science Principles Certification preferred, ability to obtain certification within 3-6 months, training will be provided
- Physically able to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various home environments
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

Individuals provided a conditional offer of employment for this position must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record.
