Job Description
Position Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role manages a broad range of HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. The HR Generalist partners with managers and employees to ensure a positive, compliant, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onboarding and new hire orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the organization.
- Administer employee benefit programs and assist employees with questions or claims.
- Maintain HR records and employee files in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate employee data entry and updates.
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
- Handle employee concerns, conflict resolution, and escalate sensitive matters as needed.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other state and federal regulations.
- Participate in performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and corrective actions.
- Assist with training initiatives, employee engagement activities, and HR projects as assigned.
- Generate reports and provide data analysis on HR metrics (turnover, recruitment, retention, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2–5 years of progressive HR experience preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred (not required).
