Job Description
Job Overview:
The Inside Sales Manager position is responsible for leading and managing inside Sales and Business Development to assist in achieving sales targets and drive business growth. This role involves heavy collaboration with the VP of Sales and other functionally aligned departments including Strategy, Marketing, Operations and Compliance. The role will help transcribe and assist with opportunities and leads generated by outside sales activities. This collaboration will result in the Insides Sales manager generating proposals, quotes and other information related to propelling the sale forward.
This role also involves managing the inside sales process including multiple RFP’s responses at any given time. RFP responses require collaboration with various other internal team members to generate content needed for submission. The position requires taking each RFP from intake through delivery and then contract negotiations. The job requires maintaining and implementing effective sales strategies and maintaining strong customer relationships with both Internal and external stakeholders. The Inside Sales Manager will collaborate with operations other departments to ensure seamless operations and the achievement of overall company objectives.
Compensation: $65K-$75K (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute inside sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets in collaboration with Strategy Department.
- Analyze Energy market trends for related opportunities received from completed customer registrations.
- Understand Utility filings and Public service regulations.
- Create and implement sales plans aligned with the company's objectives.
- Sales Process Management:
- Oversee the sales process from lead generation to closing deals.
- Monitor and optimize the sales pipeline to ensure efficient sales operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales metrics and performance.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and accounts.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with the VP Sales to capture all CRM inputs related to contacts, accounts and opportunities
- Manage membership affiliations including conference/event engagement
- Training and Development:
- Conduct regular training sessions on CRM to enhance the skills of the sales team.
- Keep the team updated on product knowledge and industry trends.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer support to align strategies and achieve common goals.
- Provide valuable feedback from customers and the field to assist in product/service enhancements.
- Sales Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze sales data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular sales reports for senior management.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in setting the inside sales budget and manage resources effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related Energy field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an Inside Sales Manager or a similar role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and sales process optimization.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales management tools.
- Proactive, result-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
