Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Appliance Load Assistant will work cooperatively with the Route Driver to execute the daily Appliance Pickup Process, including, following a predetermined route to collect appliances, serve as a principal point of contact with the customer, document pickups, while ensuring high-quality customer satisfaction is delivered. 
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Primarily works as part of a two-man crew to safely remove appliances from customer homes.  Provide navigation assistance to Route Driver, travel to the homes, call-ahead to customers, meet with the customers, document the pickup, and remove identified appliances for customer’s residence.
  2. Meet the established daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators for appliance pickup appointments 
  3. Convey a positive image of project partners by maintaining a professional appearance. 
  4. Track and report pickups and deliveries using a mobile device with a pick-up routing application, as well as paperwork as required. 
  5. Cooperatively work with program staff to identify and recommend areas for process improvement
  6. Perform related work as required
 
Qualifications:

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  2. Professional appearance 
  3. Proficiency with mobile devices, mobile GPS, and related mapping applications. 
  4. Comfortable working with people of diverse backgrounds
  5. Exercises good judgment and maintains safety at all times
  6. Able to lead, motivate, be diplomatic, and build positive rapport with customers
  7. Able to communicate with technical and non-technical individuals
  8. Able to work independently and with a team 
  9. Able to learn and work with new technology (e.g. handheld data devices)  
  10. Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends 
  11. Able to bend, stoop and reach
  12. Able to lift 75 lbs. and maneuver load safely. 
  13. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
  14. High School Diploma or equivalent

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  
  1. Able to work in a very fast-paced environment and hold to deadlines.
  2. Problem-solver.  Able to respond to a diverse set of challenges in the field and do whatever it takes to meet project deliverables on schedule.  
  3. Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, superiors, and customers
  4. Knowledge and understanding of safe material handling, moving, loading, and securing.  
  5. Weekly pay
  6. $600 sign-on bonus. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 1-year furniture or appliance delivery or loading and unloading
  2. 1 year of customer service experience 
  3. Valid driver’s license preferred, with a good driving record/motor vehicle report 
  4. Experience with Dispatch and Customer Management Systems/Databases
