            <description><![CDATA[<div>We are seeking a qualified Staff Accountant in the Finance Department to manage and provide support for MCLJASCOâs General Ledger function for all programs (internal and external). &nbsp;The ideal candidate will have both governmental accounting and corporate accounting experience. This position is based out of our Detroit Office. In this role, the candidate will report to the Accounting Manager and will have a significant impact on the corporate financial reporting.</div><div>Under general direction, performs a variety of complex technical and support services involving financial data entry into the QuickBooks Ledger, customized MCLJASCO accounting software, payroll, and reporting function. &nbsp;Also responsible for creating, analyzing, reconciling, and maintaining financial information for the organization. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><strong>DUTIES:</strong></div><ul><li>Manages continual process improvement/projects using best practice models for reporting financial results.</li><li>Program plan analysis; forecasting for profitability, cost benefits, and resource management.</li><li>Prepare monthly financial statements and consolidated financial statements through the month-end close process within a tight deadline. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger by managing/performing monthly account analysis and reconciliations and correcting discrepancies.</li><li>Analytic review of financials for Director of Finance and Owner Partners.</li><li>Assist with planning and implementing smooth and effective accounting integration for acquisition initiatives.</li><li>Close interaction with the reporting, budgeting, and forecasting teams to ensure all objectives and requirements are being satisfied and making adjustments as necessary.</li><li>Keep up to date on changes in pertinent accounting rules and regulations and work with our CPA to perform GAAP research as required.</li><li>Review and reconcile AR for governmental clients. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</strong></div><ul><li>Superior knowledge of modern accounting practices and procedures</li><li>Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be self-directed.</li><li>Ability to work in cross-functional and matrix-managed teams to support management-level finance goals.</li><li>Ability to make sound business decisions with minimal supervision and have a high degree of self-direction</li><li>Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in preparing reports and analysis</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.</li><li>Knowledge of enterprise accounting software skills; training in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).</li></ul><div><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></div><ul><li>Bachelorâs Degree in Finance or Accounting; or related 3 â 5 years work experience</li><li>Experience working with Executive and Senior Management</li><li>Proven leadership skills to motivate diverse teams.</li><li>Ability to quickly adapt to changing activities.</li><li>Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Knowledge of MS Excel and Word.</li></ul><div><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT: </strong></div><ul><li>Standard office hours are between 800 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.</li><li>Performing duties and attending events during the evening and on the weekend occurs occasionally and may be required</li><li>Minimal travel</li></ul>]]></description>

            <description><![CDATA[<div>JOB SUMMARY</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The Accounting Associate performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department for MCLJASCO Companies. &nbsp;Tasks include (but not limited to) verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records, updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers, journal entries, accounts receivable billings, and other records including detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, and accounts payable). Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (currently B1), compile data and prepare a variety of reports, reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers, recommends actions to resolve discrepancies and investigates questionable data.
